Adventure Camp - Earth Day Celebration

Meet in The Landing Atrium - Travel on our Shuttle Bus to Camp Sturtevant

Come out to Adventure Camp and celebrate Earth Day with Susan Haug from Wausau Bird Club.

The adventures will begin with an outdoor walk using binoculars to look for spring migrants. There will be a presentation with topics which include: tips on paper products, safe cleaners, recycling & water usage.

We will have a lovely homemade lunch followed by an afternoon of discussions, which will include: native plant species, insects, cats and window strikes.

Ho-Chunk Gaming Casino Trip

Meet in The Landing Atrium

Join in the fun of these monthly shuttle trips to Ho-Chunk Gaming in Wittenberg, on the last Friday of each month.

Shuttle Departure: 1:15pm from the Landing
Arrival at Casino: 2:00pm
Board Shuttle for return: 5:00pm
Arrival at The Landing: 5:45pm

The casino offers many different slot options and electronic table games, including: Texas Hold ‘Em, Craps, Blackjack and Roulette, all played with virtual dealers / dice throwers.

There are free coffee and soda stations, and the snack bar is open to buy a burger, a sandwich, or just a snack. You will receive a $10 Rewards Card as soon as you earn 10 points once you begin playing.

Monthly Fox River Mall Shuttle Trip

Tuesday, April 30 at 9:15am

Meet in The Landing Atrium - Travel on our Shuttle Bus

Let’s go Shopping! The Fox River Mall is the largest shopping mall in northeast Wisconsin. It hosts over 180 stores and is anchored by JCPenney, Sears, Macy's, Younkers, Scheels All Sports and Target, and 20 different eating venues.

We will board the Landing Shuttle at 9:20am and leave for Fox River Mall in Appleton at 9:30am.

We will arrive at the mall about 11:10, depending on traffic and road construction. Lunch and shopping will be on your own, so plan accordingly. You will be on your own to shop and/or eat lunch as you wish. We recommend staying with at least one shopping buddy as you venture out in the mall.

We will leave the mall at 2:30pm sharp – please strive to be back to the shuttle 5 – 10 minutes before that. Returning to the Landing approximately 4:15pm. Cost of the trip will be $20 for members, plus whatever money you bring for your lunch and your shopping.

You will need to sign a waiver for 2024 after January 1st, preferably prior to the trip, or the day of thetrip. We will have room in the shuttle for walkers, and hopefully for all of your packages when you’re done shopping!

Golf Lessons with a PGA Professional

Meet at Rib Mountain Golf Course Driving Range

Paul Bjerke, PGA Golf Professional will be providing a group lesson for The Landing at the Rib Mountain Golf Course Driving Range!

No need to be a proficient golfer. All levels of golfers will benefit, from beginners to average to good golfers. Cost is $25. Besides the lessons, your payment includes the fee for a bucket of 60 golf balls to use for the lessons. Golf Clubs will be provided if you do not have your own, at no additional cost.

Meet at Rib Mountain Golf Course Driving Range; 3607 N. Mountain Rd Wausau, WI. This is a great opportunity to learn golfing tips from a pro!

This year we will be offering Two sessions; one starting with lunch at 11:15am, followed by Spa Treatment at 12:15pm and one starting with a Spa Treatment at 11:15am, followed by lunch at 12:15pm.

Please meet at NTC Spoons restaurant by 11:10am. Group 1 will then enjoy lunch, and Group 2 will be shown to Studio Max for Spa Treatment before lunch. Note, we will not be bussing the group to NTC, everyone Is responsible for their own transportation.

Wausau West Planetarium- A Voyage to the Stars

Join us for a visit to the Wausau West Planetarium. Full dome content is displayed on a large hemispherical ceiling all around you, so you feel like you're in space as your comfortably seated in the planetarium auditorium style seats.

Wausau West High School Logistics:

Park as near the flagpole as possible – May need to park in parking lot
From the frontage road near the flag pole; walk east and you will see the large sign above the doors that say “Planetarium” – enter in these doors – MAP of Wausau West & Route to door on back of flyer
Arrive 5-10 minutes before 10:00am program time – Late arrivals are not allowed
We will be meeting Chris Janssen, by the planetarium entrance door; he is the Planetarium lead and our school building liaison
- If you arrive earlier than the 10 minutes prior to the program, the planetarium entrance will not be attended, you would then have to enter through the main doors and use the intercom to get in, then sign in in the office and show a state issued ID
At no time will anyone in the group be allowed to roam the building
Please arrive on time (between 9:50 and 10:00am); as we would like to start the program as close to 10:00am as possible
Bathrooms are straight down the hallway from planetarium entrance, on the right

Leigh Yawkey Museum- Guided tour of "Women Reframe American Landscape"

Friday, May 10th at 12:30-1:30pm

Meet at Leigh Yawkey Art Museum

Let’s meet at Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum at 12:20pm for a 12:30 program with Museum educators to explore Women Reframe American Landscape, an exhibition that explores the ways in which women have shaped American landscape art.

Learn more about the accomplished Hudson River School painter Susie Barstow (1836-1923), whose historic paintings are presented alongside contemporary artworks that expand and challenge contemporary conceptions of the term “landscape.”

Time in the Museum galleries will be followed by refreshments, conversations, and an optional hands-on project.

Oshkosh Shopping Outlet Trip

A 2024 Trip Waiver must be filled out if you haven't traveled on The Landing Shuttle yet this year.

Ironbull- Paff Woods Nature Preseve Hike

Ironbull is back with the first hike of the season. This is a short easy walk of 1-mile through a mature forest and along board walks.

Let’s meet at the preserve, which is located at 1601 Kickbush Street on Wausau’s east side. IRONBULL will provide water and a snack. Please dress for the weather. Get out your comfortable shoes for hiking, grab your hiking poles if you have them and join us for this atmospheric walk.

Willow Springs - Planting the Memorial Flower Garden & Lunch

Lets meet at Willow Springs and plan the flower planters near the ton hall. Enjoy a delicious lunch afterwads.

There may be a little chill in the air, so let’s plant the flower planters closest to the town hall so if there is still frost they won't affect them. We can do red, white and blue variations to help celebrate Memorial Day coming up! Then we will partake in a good old-fashioned picnic, weather may determine if we eat inside or outside, either way, we will get out the grill!

Do you want chicken or burgers on the grill? Potato salad, both German and cold, baked beans, creamy cucumbers, and watermelon for a refreshing dessert! Lemonade, milk or water to drink.

Join us in this Holiday welcoming event that will get us outside and also enjoy a picnic lunch!!

Green Bay Packer Stadium & Hall of Fame Tour & Lunch

Thursday, May 30th at 8:00am

Meet at The Landing Atrium- Travel on The Landing Shuttle

Put your Green & Gold on and join us for a fun filled day at Lambeau Field.

We will begin our Packers adventure with a tour of the Lambeau Field Stadium. This is a one-hour experience within the walls of Lambeau Field. Guests will enjoy an educational presentation on Packers history and the stadium inside a premium suite. The group will also have an opportunity to head out through the tunnel to Lambeau Field, just as the players do on gameday!

We will then experience the nostalgia of the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame where we will experience first-hand the greatest story in sports! Explore the 15,000 square foot museum that includes interactive exhibits, historic items and amazing photo opportunities, so be sure to bring your cell phone to capture pictures.

The fun and Packer theme will continue as we go to lunch at 1919 within Titletown!

Cost of trip is $68 and includes tickets for the Lambeau Stadium Tour, the Green Bay Hall of Fame, Lunch at 1919 and Shuttle ride to the event.

Baseball, Brats & Fireworks- Woodchucks vs Dock Spiders

Friday, July 5th- Gates open at 5:35pm;
Game Starts 6:35pm

Wausau Woodchucks Stadium | 325 E. Wausau Ave

Come & Cheer on the Wausau Woodchucks as they take on the Fon du lac Dock Spiders!

We have reserved the 1^st Base Patio Hospitality area, (section 201) which has a large covered viewing area, with some of the area being uncovered if you like the sun.

A 90-minute buffet, starting when gates open, of grilled bratwursts, burgers, hot dogs, chips, and coleslaw will be available for your eating pleasure. You will also receive 3 drink tokens, good for soda, water, tap beer, and other canned alcoholic beverages available in concessions. Water & soda will be in available for a drink token in coolers in our patio area. Alcohol beverages can be obtained with a drink token at the beer window in the concession stand just below where our patio area.

The game will be followed by a Fireworks display. Be sure to join us for the fun, friends and fireworks at the Woodchucks game! Go Woodchucks!

Brewers Trip 2024

Thursday, August 15th- Lamer's Bus Departs at 7:15am

Brewer's American Family Field

Let’s hop aboard a comfortable Lamer’s Motor Coach Bus and head to the Brewer’s American Family Field to watch the Brewer’s Play the Los Angeles Dodgers!

We will load the Lamer’s Bus from the Wausau YMCA location at 7:15am and leave the YMCA/Landing at 7:15am. We will be stopping at Alma’s Café in Allentown, Wi for a breakfast buffet about 10:00am. After Breakfast, we will head to the American Family Field!

The Landing staff lead for the trip will have your tickets for the game. The game starts at 1:15pm. After the game, we will load the bus in the area we were dropped off from at the stadium. We will stop at a fast food restaurant on the way home for dinner. Cost of dinner will be on your own.

The cost of the trip includes the Lamer’s bus, your ticket for the game and breakfast brunch at Alma’s and light snacks and water which will be available on the bus. Any concession purchases at the game, along with dinner at a fast food stop will be on your own. We will return to the Wausau YMCA approximately 9:00pm.

Cranes, Cats & Mansion Tours

Thursday, June 13th

The Landing Atrium- Shuttle departs at 6:40am

Hop aboard The Landing Shuttle nice & early for a full day of fun in Baraboo, Wisconsin.

The Shuttle will leave The Landing at about 6:50am and head to Baraboo. Our first stop will be The International Crane Foundation, where we will have a guided tour of the crane's habitat.

Next, we will head to the Al Ringling Mansion and Museum for a tour of the mansion. One of the greatest circus families in America was the Ringling Brothers. After the tour, we will enjoy lunch at Al Ringling Brewery Co.

Finally, we will head to Wisconsin Big Cat Rescue & Educational Center. Currently 26 big cats reside at the reserve.

Cost of your ticket includes the shuttle ride, breakfast type snacks and water on shuttle, tickets for the 3 tours and lunch.
