Senior Farmer's Market Nutrition Program

The Senior Farmer's Market Nutrition gives $25 of vouchers to eligible seniors (age 60+) to bus Wisconsin grown fruits, vegetables and herbs from approved markets and roadside stands.

Senior Summit 2026

The latest United Way report reveals that nearly half of seniors in north central WI live below the household survival budget, facing challenges like transportation, healthcare, housing, and food security. The Senior Summit aims to unite seniors to discuss these issues, featuring a talk by Ben Lee, CEO of the United Way of Marathon County, on the ALICE and LIFE reports. Breakout sessions will allow participants to prioritize issues and explore ways to make a difference. Co-sponsored by the Healthy Aging Coalition and the Senior Empowerment Project.

United Way of Marathon County

United Way of Marathon County is an independently governed non-profit organization. United Way focuses on lifting community members to financial stability.

Resources:

  • United Way 211: United Way's 211 is a free, confidential information and referral service, available 24/7.
  • AT RISK: Call or Text 211 anytime for free Assistance.
  • UNSAFE: Call 988 for access to trained crisis counselors.
  • DANGER: Call 911 to request immediate assistance.
  • Community Closet: Provides clothing to the community offering in-person shopping and a wide variety of clothing styles. They give new and gently used closing to anyone who needs it. Each household member can get up to 10 items of clothing and one pair of shoes.
  • Hunger Coalition: The Untied Way Hunger Coalition works to eliminate food insecurity in our community by taking fresh, healthy produce directly to families in need.

Faith in Action of Marathon County

Faith in Action is a non-profit organization that welcomes all senior residents. Services provided include friendly visits in your home, essential transportation to medical appointments, personal errands. etc. and they partner with The Neighbor's Place to deliver food items to those who qualify.
